- The deadline that matters is when you approve your proof, not when you first ask: standard production is 7-10 business days after approval
- For gifts in hand by Friday, December 18: approve your proof by Friday, December 4 (or December 11 with rush)
- For an office party on Friday, December 11: approve by Wednesday, November 25, the day before Thanksgiving
- Thanksgiving week and the two weeks before Christmas are the busiest of the year, so earlier is cheaper, calmer, and gets better blank selection
How These Deadlines Work
Every date below is a proof approval deadline. That's the day you sign off on the final mockup and confirm sizes, which is when production starts. Our standard turnaround is 7-10 business days from approval, and rush is 3-5 business days. We worked each date backwards from when you'd want the order in hand, using the full 10 business days for standard and skipping Thanksgiving and the day after. Our turnaround guide explains what happens between quote and delivery.
Plan to reach out a few days before the approval date, since the quote, artwork, and proof steps come first. If your logo isn't print-ready, add another day or two; see how to prepare your logo for printing.
The 2026 Holiday Calendar
- Storefront window graphics up for Black Friday (installed by Wed, Nov 25): approve by Wednesday, November 11. Rush: Wednesday, November 18.
- Company holiday party apparel (party on Fri, Dec 11): approve by Wednesday, November 25. Rush: Friday, December 4.
- Client and staff gifts in hand by Fri, Dec 18: approve by Friday, December 4. Rush: Friday, December 11.
- Family and matching holiday shirts in hand by Fri, Dec 18: same as gifts, approve by Friday, December 4. Small heat transfer runs can sometimes go faster; ask.
- Winter crew jackets and hoodies: as soon as possible. Fleece and outerwear blanks sell down through November; the earlier you order, the more colors and sizes you can choose from.
If your date is different, take the day you need the order in hand and count back 10 business days for standard or 5 for rush, skipping weekends and holidays. That's your approval deadline.
Why Earlier Really Is Better This Time of Year
Blank stock runs low. Popular hoodies, quarter-zips, beanies, and dark tees in common sizes sell down at suppliers through November and December, and there's no restock before the holidays. Late orders often mean picking a different color or style.
Rush has limits. Rush production works best with simple, print-ready artwork and in-stock garments. In mid-December, with every shop at capacity, rush slots fill quickly.
Thanksgiving week is short. Thursday and Friday are off, which pushes everything back two days. An order approved the Monday of Thanksgiving week lands later than most people expect.
What to Order, by Deadline
If you're past a standard deadline, simplify: a one-color print on an in-stock tee or an embroidered beanie moves faster than a five-color design on a specialty garment. Gift ideas by budget, from beanies to embroidered quarter-zips, are in holiday gifts for clients and staff. Hoodie and fleece specifics are in the fall hoodie guide, and outerwear is in custom work jackets. For the holiday window itself, see storefront window graphics.
A Simple Checklist to Hit Your Date
- Pick the date you need everything in hand, and add a few days of cushion
- Send your logo, quantity, and garment choice at least a week before your approval deadline
- Collect sizes before the proof arrives, not after
- Approve the proof the day you receive it
- Have a backup color in mind in case your first choice is out of stock
